"To anyone thinking of buying an invisible fence from the dealer in Rochester, please read this. My husband and I had the salesman out from Invisible fence. Our main concern we talked about was our dog being shocked and getting scared. The salesman assured us that is does not hurt the dog, and that is not a shock, but a correction of static. He pulled out a collar and let my husband feel it. He could barley feel it, and asked the salesman if that would keep him in the yard, and we were told that the certified dog trainer would teach our dog to stay in the yard using that setting. We were both impressed and after about an hour, we got the sales pitch and a quote of $2400. We both told him that was out of our price range, especially since our yard was so tiny. Then the price went to $1700 which is what we thought the price would be, but we had to sign up right then. Feeling like we were getting a great deal, and buying a great brand name brand, we signed up. 3 days later the installer came and to put in the fence, and soon after the dog trainer showed up. He led Bandit to the fence, and he let out a scream, and he jumped up into the air, and he pulled the leash right out of the trainer’s hand, and ran back to the house. We were so distraught by the experience, we didn’t know what to do. I ran to get bandit, and my husband ask the trainer what the heck did he just do. Then we took off the collar, and my husband took it into the fence line to test it on his hand like he did with the salesman. He yelled and threw the collar, and asked the trainer why it was it set so damn high. The trainer simply said that he really had to “give it to him” for him to stay in the yard, and besides, it was on the low setting” The low setting he felt with the salesman was not this setting. After 3 days of our dog refusing to go into the yard, we asked for our money back. After a week, my husband returned the unit and collar Invisible Fence dealer in Henrietta and demanded our money back. The salesman used bait and switch and now our dog is scared of our yard, and he now poops and pee’s in the house. The manager at Invisible Fence of western Rochester told me he could refund my money except for $300, which is the cost of the wire, which we keep, and it can’t be returned. A few days, someone came to our house, and ripped up the fence wire in 2 places, so there was no way we could use the wire, that they CHARGED us $300 for. Since then we purchased a fence from Ralph. With a low setting and a lot of time, we convinced Bandit to come back outside and use the yard. We have since told everyone about our bad experience with Invisible Fence Company and how happy we are with Hidden Pet Fence Company. If you are in the market for a fence for your dog, please understand that this was a terrible experience for us and our dog with The Invisible Fence Company. Working with Ralph at Hidden Pet Fence was more whan we expected to get from the bigger named company. Thanks again, Ralph! "
